Terms of Service

Last updated: July 20, 2026

Welcome to Bandry. These Terms govern your use of the Bandry app on iPhone and iPad, the Bandry web app at app.bandry.app, and any related services (together, "Bandry"). By creating an account or using Bandry, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Who can use Bandry

You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under the age of legal majority where you live, you also need a parent or guardian's permission.

You agree to:

  • Use your real identity. Don't impersonate other people or misrepresent your affiliations.
  • Maintain one personal account. Don't operate multiple accounts to circumvent blocks, bans, or the trial period.
  • Keep the Apple or Google account you sign in with, and your devices, secure. You're responsible for everything that happens on your account.

How Bandry works

Bandry is a need-and-offer hub for musicians and music-industry people, organized into boards:

  • Bulletin, posts describing what you're seeking or offering. Local posts are radius-gated; remote roles like mixing or design reach everyone.
  • Market, listings for buying, selling, or trading music gear (more on gear sales below).
  • Showcase, share a link to a track you made and receive private feedback from other musicians. You earn a submission by reviewing someone else's track first, and the reviews you write must follow the same community guidelines as everything else you post.
  • Mixtapes, share links to public playlists on streaming services.
  • Resources, a map of nearby studios, venues, and other music places.
  • Press Kits, build an electronic press kit and publish it to a public web page.

The core interactions:

  • 🔥 Endorse, tap a fire emoji to upvote something. Free, never gated.
  • 🔗 Link up, tap to express interest in working with the poster. When you do, your private contact info (phone and email) is shared with the poster, and only the poster, so they can contact you off-platform. The social and music links on your profile are public to other members either way, see the Privacy Policy.
  • Not interested, hide content you don't want to see. Only you see your hides.

Once a link-up happens, the conversation moves off Bandry. We are not a party to any communication, agreement, or transaction that follows. We don't mediate disputes between users.

Posts: 30-day life with a one-time renewal

Every post you create automatically expires 30 days after you publish it. Expired posts stop appearing in the feed and are no longer eligible for endorsements or link-ups. This keeps the feed honest about what people are actually looking for right now.

If your search runs longer than 30 days, you can renew a post once during its lifetime, which extends its expiry by another 30 days from the moment you renew. After that one renewal, the post follows the same expiry rules, when it expires again, you can repost it as a fresh listing if you still need help.

Your account, your free trial, and your subscription

When you sign in for the first time, we create an account for you and start a 14-day free trial. During the trial, you have full access to every feature.

When the trial ends, you'll need an active subscription to keep posting and linking up. Reading the boards and endorsing posts remain free, you can stay in the app without paying.

Subscriptions are billed at the price shown at purchase and renew automatically until cancelled:

  • On iPhone and iPad, subscriptions are billed by Apple. Renewal, refund, and cancellation are handled through your Apple ID account settings; Bandry can't issue refunds outside Apple's standard policy.
  • On the web, subscriptions are billed by Stripe, our payment processor. You can cancel any time from Settings → Manage billing, and you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.

One subscription covers all of Bandry, whichever platform you bought it on. Prices may change; the current price is always shown before you subscribe, and you'll be notified of a price change before it applies to a renewal, as the law requires.

Market: gear sales are between you and the other person

Market listings are peer-to-peer. Bandry is not a party to any gear sale, takes no fee or commission, and provides no payment processing, escrow, shipping, or buyer/seller protection. When you link up on a listing, you and the other person arrange payment, inspection, and the exchange yourselves. Inspect gear before paying, meet somewhere public for local exchanges, and use payment methods you trust.

Listings must describe items honestly, and you may only list items you have the right to sell.

Acceptable use, community guidelines

Don't use Bandry to:

  • Harass, threaten, defame, or stalk other users.
  • Post hate speech, violent content, sexual content, or anything illegal under US law.
  • Spam, repetitive promotional posts or any automated interaction.
  • Impersonate someone else, or misrepresent your skills, role, or experience, including in the credibility badges you self-declare on your profile.
  • Post content you don't own the rights to.
  • Pass off AI-generated or otherwise inauthentic music as your own, or use bots or AI to mass-produce posts, tracks, reviews, or playlists. Bandry runs on real people and real music, and Showcase feedback and Mixtapes only work when what you share is genuinely yours. Using AI tools in your own production is fine. Flooding the app with auto-generated or passed-off content is not.
  • Use Bandry to recruit for activities outside the music industry (it's a music marketplace; that's the deal).
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or bypass any technical limit we set.

Posting your contact information directly in a post body or showcase link to circumvent the link-up mechanic is also a violation, the privacy of the 🔗 reveal is load-bearing for the whole community.

Reporting and moderation

If you see a post or user that violates these guidelines, tap "..." on the card and pick Report. A founder reviews every report within 24 hours and may:

  • Remove the post.
  • Suspend or terminate the offending account.
  • Take no action if the report doesn't apply.

You can also block any user from the same menu. Blocking is enforced in our database, in both directions, and can't be worked around from the app: across the Bulletin, Market, Showcase and Mixtapes boards, a blocked user's posts, listings, tracks and mixtapes stop reaching you and yours stop reaching them. Blocking also stops link-ups between you, and a blocked member can no longer leave feedback on your Showcase track. Use Report for anything that needs us to act.

If your post is removed, you'll receive an in-app notice explaining what happened.

Beyond responding to reports, we may remove any content and suspend or terminate any account at our discretion to enforce these Terms or protect the community, with or without prior notice. We aim to be fair and to act in good faith, but the call is ours to make.

Off-platform connections

When you link up with someone, you share your contact information so the two of you can connect off-platform, via email, phone, Instagram, or wherever you chose to be reachable.

Bandry is not involved in those off-platform conversations. We don't mediate work agreements, payment disputes, missed sessions, no-show appointments, IP ownership, or any other matter that arises after the link-up. You're responsible for your own due diligence before working with someone you met through the app, exactly as you would be after meeting someone at a show or through a friend.

Your content

You retain ownership of everything you post, your posts and listings, your showcase links and tracks, your press kits, your profile information. By posting content, you grant Bandry a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to display and distribute that content within Bandry to other users, for as long as your account is active or the content is published. This is the minimum license we need to actually show your post to other users.

If you publish a press kit, you additionally grant us the license to display it on its public web page and downloadable one-sheet for as long as you keep it published. Unpublishing the kit ends that license.

When you delete a post or your account, that license terminates for the deleted content.

Showcase links

You can attach links to other services (Spotify, YouTube, Instagram, portfolios) on your posts. We fetch each link's preview metadata (image, title, favicon) so it appears as a rich card in the feed.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to share whatever the link points to. We can remove links that violate copyright, point to illegal content, or are used to circumvent these Terms.

Service availability and changes

We do our best to keep Bandry available and working, but we don't guarantee uptime. We may add, remove, or change features at any time. If a change materially affects how the app works, we'll let you know.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

We may suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate your account at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms or our community guidelines. Violations that can lead to immediate suspension or a permanent ban include, but are not limited to: spam or bot activity; posting AI-generated or inauthentic content as your own; harassment; illegal or infringing content; impersonation; ban evasion, including creating new accounts to get around a suspension; and circumventing the link-up mechanic. We may also terminate accounts that have been inactive for an extended period after notifying you.

If we terminate your account for a violation, you do not have a right to a refund of any subscription payment already made. These remedies are in addition to any others available to us, and choosing not to act on a violation doesn't waive our right to act on it, or on any other violation, later.

Disclaimers

Bandry is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranty, express or implied, that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, virus-free, or fit for any particular purpose. We don't warrant that any link-up you make through Bandry will result in successful work, payment, or any other outcome.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Bandry and its founder are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including lost profits, lost work opportunities, or damages resulting from any off-platform interaction with another user.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Bandry is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations of liability, so part of this section may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bandry and its founder from any claim, demand, loss, or liability, including reasonable attorneys' fees , arising from (a) your use of the app, (b) any content you post, (c) any link-up you make and the off-platform interactions that follow, or (d) your violation of these Terms.

Apple's role

If you downloaded Bandry from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that:

  • These Terms are between you and Bandry, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Bandry.
  • If Bandry fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). Apple has no other warranty obligation.
  • Apple is not responsible for any third-party claim that the app or your possession of it infringes that party's intellectual property rights.
  • Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
  • You must comply with all applicable third-party terms when using the app (for example, your wireless carrier's terms).

Apple's standard End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies to your use of the app, in addition to these Terms. Where Apple's EULA is stricter than these Terms, the stricter provision applies.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Bandry will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for changes that materially affect your rights, we'll show you a notice the next time you open the app. Your continued use after a change means you've accepted the new version.
