Bandry

On the map, in the app

Find instrument repair near you.

Bandry's Resources tab maps the repair shops and luthiers around you, live from Apple Maps, so a buzzing fret or a dead pickup before a show is a quick fix, not a lost weekend. Or post for a tech who does setups directly. The shop and the people, one app.

The bench

Repair shops near you, pulled live.

Tap Repair in the Resources tab and the map fills with the shops and luthiers around you, directions a tap away. Live from Apple Maps, so it's current and works in any city, when you need a setup before the session or a fix before the gig.

What to ask

Match the tech to the job.

Setups and basics

Action, intonation, neck relief, a restring. Any decent bench handles these, and a good setup is the cheapest upgrade your instrument can get.

Fret and structural

Fret levels, refrets, nut work, cracks and breaks. This is luthier territory. Ask what they specialize in before you hand over a guitar you care about.

Amps and electronics

Pickups, pots, wiring, tube amps. Not every shop does it, so confirm first. The bulletin can find a tech who specializes if the local shops don't.

The people, not just the place

Find the tech, not just the shop.

Repairs and setups is one of the roles you can search on the bulletin, so you can find a tech directly, local for in-person work, and link up to arrange it off-platform. Find the shop on the map, or find the person on the board.

Questions

Finding instrument repair

How do I find instrument repair near me?

Open Bandry's Resources tab and tap Repair. It pulls the repair shops and luthiers around you live from Apple Maps, with the address and directions a tap away, so it works in any city without waiting on a curated list. You can also post on the bulletin for a tech who does setups and repairs directly.

What's a setup, and how often do I need one?

A setup dials in your action, intonation, neck relief, and electronics so the instrument plays in tune and feels right. Most players get one once or twice a year, plus after a big temperature or humidity swing, or when you change string gauge. It's the cheapest upgrade you can make to a guitar.

Should I go to a music store's repair desk or a dedicated tech?

A store's bench is great for routine setups, restrings, and quick fixes. For fret work, refrets, structural repairs, or vintage and electronics work, a dedicated luthier or tech is usually worth it. Ask what they specialize in, since guitar, amp, and brass and woodwind repair are different trades.

Can I find a guitar tech or luthier on Bandry?

Yes. The shop is the place; the bulletin is the people. Repairs and setups is one of the roles you can search, so you can find a tech directly, link up, and arrange it off-platform. Find the shop on the map, or find the person on the board.

Where can I get amp or electronics repair?

Many guitar repair shops also handle amps and pickups, but not all, so ask first. Bandry's Resources map shows repair shops near you, and the bulletin lets you post specifically for someone who does amp and electronics work if the local shops don't.
